GRUB

The GRUB, Which stands for GNU GRand Unified Bootloader, it is a software to start operating systems. including Deepin. It may be configured in a partition special or preinstalled configuration file.

Boot Screen

The startup screen allows you to start Deepin normally. That's where Deepin works. also it appears Deepin Recovery.

Changing the boot screen

To customize the boot screen, go to Control center. Or, in the most advanced form, edit the background from /usr/share/images/grub.

Editing GRUB

To edit the GRUB, if available use the Shift key or the corresponding button.

The changes are saved to the file /etc/default/grub. Remember that is displayed on the MBR (partition table of the HDD). Within the operating system is installed on package GRUB. If you plan to modify, we recommend seriously make a backup.

  • GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY=true: Displays the option "Safe Mode". This option allows security actions on your computer.
  • acpi=off noacpi nolapic: When you add this line disables Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. Ideal if the PC does not support this technology and that would be the reason not to start the operating system.
