In this article we intend to show you how to recover your system after a disaster or catastrophic error in Deepin By using a file previously created by the backup and recovery application present in Deepin 20.1 and higher. It should be noted that this tool is only present in systems in which the automatic partitioning option (Use the entire disk) was used at the time of the installation of the Deepin operating system.
There are several ways to use the Recovery tool in Deepin. In this post we will concentrate on the method through the Control Center. If for some reason you cannot access your desktop and therefore to the recovery system then read this section* of the tutorial to proceed to use the method 2*. Let's get started; To use the backup I explain here how to use it in two ways.
To use it if necessary, you must first have your external hard drive connected (where you saved the Deepin backup), and on the Deepin desktop go to control center, and follow the steps that I leave in the following images, it is very intuitive.
That's all using mode 1. Your system has been successfully restored and you have made your first recovery using the Backup and Recovery tool in Deepin. If everything went well Deepin will restore the copy to the day, month, year, and exact time it was created.
The second method is practically the same. The difference basically is that instead of opening the backup system from the control center you will open it from the screen of Grub when initializing the system. This mode can be especially useful if for some reason your system crashes after restarting and you cannot access your desktop.
To access the recovery system from Grub just reboot the machine and select it during boot.
From there the steps are the same as in the Mode 1*, except that some of the windows will look a little different. The content and the dialogues however are the same.
In theory there is still an additional method which we have not mentioned and with which you could use Deepin Restore even when you can no longer access the Grub, but we haven't tested this one yet, so we can't attest that it works. However, if you want to use it, keep reading.
Suppose you can't even get to the screen of Grub.
If you've tried this method and it worked well for you, let us know through a comment at the bottom of the article. Likewise, if you have any questions or if you notice an error of any kind in this tutorial, we would appreciate it if you let us know about it.
