PART I
REALIZAR UN RESPALDO DEL SISTEMA CON DEEPIN CLONE
An backup system is important in Deepin. This tutorial has the necessary intention to prepare to keep your information safe in critical situations.
Deepin Clone It is a tool that allows I backup system (Backup / Backup), so you can use it in case disaster strikes. Or restore a previous copy when your system is in an inaccessible state to the start Deepin. Or just made a change that caused instability in your team. No matter if the application to be installed is one thing or another.
using Deepin Clone you can return to an earlier stage, with the help of the copy before the error happened. Below is a guide "step by step" how to back up and how to recover later if a disaster occurs.
It is important to make the least one backup of the system a week so make sure you can return to a not too distant future. As more old is your support more things would have lost. No other point to clarify, please carefully read the following guidelines:
1 Primeramente go to the store Deepin download and install "Deepin Recovery«. (In previous versions of Deepin this came installed by default, but now this is no longer the case.) Once installed restart the system and select "Deepin Recovery » from Grub options.
2 Once you have accessed the desktop of the Recovery from there, below the taskbar or dock (Dock), select and open the tool "Deepin Clone”.
3 Ya una vez abierta la herramienta “Deepin Clone”On the left side of the application make sure to select“partition". While on the right side you must select "A partition image" as shown below:
4 On the next screen make sure that on the left side of the tool the partition where Deepin is installed is selected. (Usually the icon that partition has the official logo at Deepin). Then on the right side of the application click 'Select Location Of Destiny«.
5 In the next window select the target disk or partition where you will store the backup using the file manager Deepin as shown in the chart below, and select a folder where you'll save the backup. (Although it is not necessary to create a new folder). Simply you can also select the root of the disk if you want.
6 Selecciona un nombre único para tu copia de seguridad, en el ejemplo abajo se seleccionó “1
2-Samsung SSD 850-1.dim
»Because other previously created copies with similar names already existed.
7 En el próximo paso deberás hacer clic en “Backing"And Deepin Clone should show something like this:
8 Then the backup will begin:
9 Al terminar, sí la ejecución fue exitosa verás una pantalla así:
It's that easy to create a backup copy of your system so you can use it in case of an unexpected disaster.
In addition, you can view the file by clicking on "View backup." See for yourself.
PART II
HOW TO RECOVER THE SYSTEM USING THE BACKUP ALREADY CREATED
1 Después de haber entrado nuevamente a “Deepin Recovery"As shown in Step # 1 of" Part I "of this tutorial from the taskbar (Dock) click on the tool"Deepin Clone"Once the tool is open make sure that in the left part of the interface you select"partition"And then select"A partition image”On the right side as shown below. then select "Carry over”.
2 It is extremely important that you pay EXTREME CAUTION to the next step, because of selecting the wrong partition You lose all the information on that partition. The partition to choose must be the one identified with the standard Deepin logo. (Well, it is the one that was damaged) and the one that we want to recover. First make sure that the partition with the Deepin logo is the one selected on the right side of the tool, then click on the left where it says: "Select Image File".
3 Browse using the tool and find the location where you saved the partition image you created in Part I of this tutorial, then press "Open" and select the previously saved image. Your screen should show the following:
4 In the next step you must again make sure that you have selected the correct destination partition (the one with the Deepin logo) or else you will lose all the information in that partition !. Click to select "Restore Startup" to correct any problem that is preventing the system from starting correctly, and then click the blue bar that says "Restore."
After doing that the following screens will appear:
If the restoration was successful, the next screen should appear announcing that the procedure was carried out without any problem:
Congratulations, that's it. You have made your first restoration using the tool "Deepin Clone"!
Does anyone know what the recovery pass is
Excellent companion article; I make it clear that mounting partitions is solved in the new version of recovery mode; same that will arrive on 15.5.1
Thank you, yes, I will review it soon to eliminate unnecessary steps now.
Good morning, I hope you can help me with these two questions about deepin clone:
1) If I have a hard disk with deepin and windows, and I make a backup of the entire disk, and if the windows installation is damaged, at the time of restoring the backup, will the windows installation also recover?
2) Is it possible to restore the backup on different hardware than the initial one?
Greetings.
So in that case you should also backup the windows partitions
Thank you… that deepin clone functionality is very interesting…. and someone tried to restore the backup on a different hardware from the original with newly installed deepin?
As long as the backup does not have proprietary drivers installed, yes. it is understood? If you have a system with a nvidia gpu and you install the proprietary video driver, it will give an error when you want to start a computer that for example has an AMD radeon. The same is valid if you install the Intel or amd microcodes. If there are no privatives, you have great chances of success.
Yes, the explanation is very clear. I only use free drivers so I don't think I'm having problems. Thank you!!!
Keep in mind that perhaps you will be the first user to try to clone another machine, do not forget to tell us the results obtained here as soon as you have done it. It will be interesting to know how it went.
Of course…. The weekend I hope to have time to try and I tell you how it went
You chose that one when you first installed the Recovery system. He asked you when you caught that update that included it in the system.

The issue is that I do not remember having established any
Well explained bro.
Thank you
Lewin Viola effort is made at least
Superb tutorial Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I'm glad you found it useful.
I have a question: when a restore is equivalent to a system format?
To restore is to return the exact copy of a backup, let's say the system with the applications you had installed, your settings, etc., formatting to install is something else.
I understood. Thank You
Hello
André Bezerra For the purposes of the specific partition which you are going to restore, I would say that if everything were erased in that partition, however, the information will not be lost in other partitions on the same disk. now and this is MIMPORTANT UY of having a single partition on that disk then yesIt would be like reformatting the disk, everything that was there will be replaced by the data that is part of the backup as such.
Also note that my tutorial is for backup of type «Image partition» como se muestra en el «Paso #3 ».
Yes you have a lot of fear Deepin Clone Remember that we also have a tutorial on how to make backups and recoveries using TimeShift. I hope I have clarified your doubt, otherwise let me know.
Regards.
You cannot enter Deepin Clone, because it asks me for a password, which seems to be different from my root password.
is the password you entered when you updated or installed
live-filesystem
En Deepin 15.9 no esta instalado y parece que no funciona entrado en Recovery, quedándose la pantalla en negro, a parte de Deepin clone también instale live-filesystem.
Any ideas thanks.
Hello
miguel dark Last time I tried it it worked fine, I am not aware of any issues with Deepin Clone at the moment, I actually used it this week in 15.9, so it is not a general problem it could be something with your setup, if I have noticed several multiple users complaining about black screens.
Do you have no problem loading the normal desktop? Anyway I suggest you an alternative to Deepin Clone, we have written about it in:
https: //deepinenespañol.org/una-alternativa-fiable-a-deepin-clone/
Anyway I will investigate more about Deepin Clone in my Deepin installation.
Greetings.
Thank you, it's what I've done.
Very good information, very complete and clear, it shows that there is dedication. Very good work brother. But I have a question or a problem: it turns out that when I try to enter it does not agree and it says that the pass I enter is incorrect, I don't know if I accidentally put a wrong number. The question is. Is there a way to reset, recover or change the password?
Hello
Jc Baez, I have not used Deepin Clone for a long time, so now I do not remember exactly how to fix that situation, if I remember correctly I think that the password you are asking for can be reset by following the steps explained in this articleHowever, I cannot guarantee that this will work.
However, you have an excellent alternative to Deepin Clone if you have problems with that tool; I mean TimeShift.and here You can see instructions on how to rescue the system after creating a backup with TimeShift.
From then on I will also try the Timeshift option to see which way I like the most.
