BACKUP IN THE CLOUD WITH DUPLICATI
Cloud backup: Keep a backup securely in the cloud services of your choice such as Google Drive, dropbox, Mega, OneDriveand many others. In case your PC is stolen or it simply stops working, you can connect from any computer or laptop and recover your backed up files in the service of your choice, but best of all, totally free.
Dear Deepin community in Spanish, like all of you I am in love with Open Source and today I want to share with you all a tool called Duplicate. Asoftware Free open source, this tool is compatible on operating systems such as Linux, MacOS and Windows.
Duplicate is a software for online backups, being a very efficient in terms of data and intuitive with the user, a brief example of these is that interrupted backups can be resumed and Duplicate test backup content regularly, detecting corrupted copies before it's too late.
Doing a full backup every day results in reliable backups, but it is time consuming and resource intensive. All source data must be sent to and stored at the backup destination each time the backup job runs.
Duplicate combines the best of both worlds. When a backup is performed, only the modified parts of the files are sent to the destination. From this point of view, Duplicate behaves as if you were doing an incremental backup. When one or more files (or all files and folders) need to be restored from the most recent backup, this backup (and all others) looks like a full backup - all data can be restore with a single operation, without reproducing a set of incremental backups.

STEPS TO DOWNLOAD
The first thing to do is enter the official Duplicate page https://www.duplicati.com/ and go to the tab Download(Download), we left click and it will send us to a new tab where we can choose the operating system of our computer:
STEPS TO INSTALL
In our case we are users of the distro Deepin we click on the first box where it says Debian and it will automatically start the download process. In our folder Downloads we will find a file with the following name Duplicati_22.214.171.124-1_all (the numbers will change depending on the version available at the time you are following this tutorial).
The second, once we have located the file, we proceed to double-click it and it will start the installation of the program on our computer. Once the process is finished, it will show us on our screen that the installation process has finished successfully. We go to our toolbar and locate the icon Duplicate and we click for it to open a window in our default browser.
STEPS TO CONFIGURE
The first step that is carried out in this window is to assign a robust password with which we can enter the platform from any computer or laptop, at the bottom we will find the option to change the language to Spanish and place the dark theme, since default this comes with white theme.
Where is the update channel option, we leave it by default, since it will load us with the latest updates of the platform and we continue to go down until we find the option to click on the button OK.
CONFIGURING OUR FIRST BACKUP COPY
It is very simple, you just have to follow the steps that I will explain below: We click on «Add backup»And select«Set up new backup»As we have no other option for now. Then click on Following and we will see the different configurations that it offers us Duplicate.
Once the data has been filled in, we can continue by clicking on the next button. In this new screen, we will select where we will send the data we want to back up.
In the destination path we look for the folder to which we want to perform the backup. In my case I chose a partition which is shown in the Folder Path, I assign a name and a password for security reasons, clicking on the option Copy Destination we choose the service of our preference.
For example in my case I chose MEGA.NZ This in turn asks me to enter my username and password and to validate in my email inbox to validate that I am indeed the person who is carrying out the process, we click on the test connection option this takes only a matter of second and it will show us on the screen that the connection has been made successfully.
DATA OF ORIGIN
In this step, we will choose what we are going to save in our backup with Duplicate. We can save from complete units to folders or even only files with a specific extension. On this occasion, we are going to make a backup with Duplicate only and exclusively from the partition we choose or a specific folder such as the photos folder.
To carry out this configuration, we will first have to select our partition or where we have the photos that we want to save in the square called «Source data». As data we can add a «Filter by extensions»Which will be in charge of filtering only the files with the extensions: JPG and JPEG.
The next step is to decide when the backup will run. The normal thing in this type of image backups is that it is done once a month, but I leave that to your decision
Once we have the configuration as we want it, we can proceed to give FollowingPlease note that if you have specified a past date, the backup with Duplicate It will be launched immediately upon completion of setup.
Finally, what we will have to do are general configurations if we are going to make remote backups. As this is not the case, we will simply have to give «Save»And if we have everything right, a screen like the following one will appear:
Now we can decide whether to perform the backup now or wait for the programmer to launch it automatically according to the configuration that we assign.
