ACTIVE WINDOW ANIMATION EFFECT IN Deepin

Effects and animations

Saludos community, today I bring this tutorial which will address how to enable and configure window animation effects in our beloved SW Deepin 15.11 or higher. Too easy! Dare to explore and customize your system.

The tutorial will be divided into two simple videos that are quite self explanatory.

one-) In this first video we will see how to install KDE System Settings (This software is used to perform all the necessary settings) and how to access the visual effects available. Follow the instructions to the letter and you can create animations and effects really beautiful, to start the command to use to install System Settings is:

update && sudo apt sudo apt install systemsettings

Once installed System Settings then open and look carefully at the video below to follow the steps in the first part of this simple tutorial.

two-) After you find yourself familiar with the steps and instructions of the first video then continues to the second video in which we see as editing in greater depth these effects.

So much for this tutorial. I hope it is useful and if there are questions and / or clarifications or concerns do not be afraid to ask through a comment below and to learn more tricks and tutorials visit my channel on YouTube.

See you soon and at the moment I wish them luck setting their favorite window effects and animations!

add some form of window decorating themes?

No, Deepin is not compatible with QT or GTK themes, this because Deepin has its own desktop technology called DTK.

That's cool, I wonder why Deepin does not come with systemsettings application already installed.

Hey, that's because the intention of Deepin is not to develop a KDE desktop, but a desktop-based, so far the technology KDE this is possible only because Deepin 15.11 lion has not completed the transition from code reuse KDE and generate your new code 'personalized'. All tracks make me assume that this will eventually not work well or stop working completely in Deepin 20.

Isaías Gätjens Mwould be a shame to stop working, I hope not, but on reflection may come with its own effects in that case I suppose .......

excellent just reinstall Deepin, and these effects love me, always was among Deepin and kde and was inclined to the latter by the great possibility of customization and its effects on the desktop and now I can use it in Deepin is great for read here that for version 20 it would stop working is a shame if true think it comes very well to Deepin to customize the desktop and windows with these effects is great hope that does not stop working, very good contribution thanks !!!!!

Hello, your question is very ambiguous, I do not understand what you mean exactly, can she skipped a step, carefully read the article and not get anything.

What you mean you do not go? where not come out? KDE preferences or control center.

Send screenshots (Ctrl + Alt + A) or legible photo of the problem helps a lot.

The effects are activated window in the Control Center → Personalization → Effects window.

Pascual Garcia Looking at the shared image I could tell you that you will not be able to use DDE-KWIN effects because you are using a deprecated and abandoned database and your system uses the old WM window manager from deepin 15.9 which was a fork of Gala and does not have dde-kwin like versions 15.10 and 15.11

Regarding the repositories that it shows I would say that deepin abandoned the UNSTABLE base a year ago in deepin 15.10 and it was suggested to reinstall the system with the new stable ISOS since the unstable repositories `happened to be neglected. if you have installed an ISO 15.11 then you have been wrong to modify the mirror in the sources.list since it clearly reads unstable in it, when it should be Lion .. also the terminal shows you that it has broken and unsolvable packages therefore I recommend you to install ISO 15.11 from scratch or wait deepin 20 to do it.

I also leave you the article from a year ago, where we explained the changes in the launch of Deepin 15.10

Hi bro, I'm glad to be with you, I'm new here and linux in general.
I have the deepin20 version installed, I have installed systemsettings but when I run it it closes instantly. Any solution please?

Deepin 20's window manager is based on kwin, but it is a fork, that is, they took kwin from KDE and customized it, modified it at their convenience. Deepin is developing its own desktop technology, a branch independent of KDE or GTK, and does not seek to be compatible with any of the other branches. I don't know if they will then make systemsettings work again, but I see them more geared towards adding configuration options to the Control Center - Post to Twitter -.

An alternative is the procedure of the following link, to activate some window effects like jelly window.
